Calm, Slim and Sexy Mommy
As a single mom I know life can easily get overwhelming and end up with tears falling into a glass of rosé at the end of the day. It ain’t pretty.
So how does one stay calm, slim and sexy?
#1 = take care of yourself first.
I know you’ve heard that before… but check it. Here is the outcome of a brainstorm with my momma posse about what works and what doesn’t.
3 To Keep Mommy Calm
- Knowing how to say no gracefully.
- Scheduling in time for fun and relaxation.
- Going to bed early to wake up refreshed.
3 That Burn Mommy Out
- Cleaning constantly… never ending.
- Not being realistic with your to do list.
- Checking Facebook when bored/tired.
I know this seems weird, by reading the title… you maybe expected a menu plan with veggies and lean proteins or an exercise plan with 10-minute meditations. I know… I know… those things work for SLIM ;-/
BUT BUT BUT…
It will be a lot easier to create space for your veggies/proteins/workouts/meditations/sex ;-)
If you focus on getting CALM… and avoiding BURN OUT.

Now, what to do about it?
Make a Vision Board
Something that always helps me is to create and visualize how I want to feel. Create a happy, calm, mommy vision board. Search the web for images or take your own. Then slap it down either with old fashion glue and paper or use your computer to create something in Word, Powerpoint, or paint application.
Answer these questions:
- How do I want to feel?
- What calms me down?
- Makes me feel sane?
- Gives me energy?
- Gives me happy thoughts?
- And what makes me smile BIG?

I keep this posted on my kitchen wall, because that’s where I spend most of my time doing kiddy routines and it keeps me happy.
