Expanding Your Time: Tips for Time Management

Time. We all want more time. More time with family and friends. More time for vacations. More time for afternoon naps. More time so we can make it to the gym. Time is our most precious commodity. Unfortunately we can't add more hours to our day. But we can make the most of those hours we have. That’s where tips for time management can be helpful. So today, I’m sharing some of my best tips for making the most of your time for a happier and healthier lifestyle.

First we have to understand that time can be measured exactly in seconds, minutes and hours. Or it can be a bit less structured: morning, afternoon, and evening. For me, I am most productive when I don't measure time in exact moments. When I have a lot on my plate I have to break it down into manageable chunks of time. I've found I'm most productive when I take a few minutes in the morning to plan for my day. The key for me is to be flexible. My morning may end up happening in the afternoon. When that happens, I can't let it grind me to a stop. Plan for interruptions. They will happen.

Another thing that helps me is to tackle the items I dread the most early in the day. Get the most challenging items off my list and out of the way. If I keep these items on the to-do list, I keep pushing them lower and lower. I anxiously anticipate when I'll actually have to complete the task. Don't put off the hard stuff, just knock it out. It will be a relief!

I've also had to learn to say no. I can't do everything for everyone. It is ok to tell someone no. Just as it is ok to delegate tasks. Managing your time doesn't mean that you blow through your to-do list, therefore adding extra time at the end of the day. It means that you actually manage the tasks that you need to complete and hand off those things that are better handled by someone else. Delegation doesn't mean you’re lazy.

Lastly, when I have a slam packed schedule day after day it is hard to stay focused. I have to be active. Some days that is a quick lap around the office to say hello to someone who sits on the other side of the building. Other days it is a long run at the end of the day. Be sure to allow time for physical activity and change it up. Work out when it works best for your schedule.

Don't forget to plan for the fun! I burn out fast when I don't allow time to be social.

And remember, Juice Plus+ capsules and chewables are another easy way to get some time back in your day, providing a convenient and efficient way to get your daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
