Juice Plus+ Named Top Workplace in Memphis: Here’s Why

file

It’s official! Juice Plus+ is a great place to work.

Every year, Memphis’s local daily newspaper, The Commercial Appeal, recognizes the best places to work in Memphis. The paper just released its list for 2017, and Juice Plus+ is honored to have received one of the coveted spots, alongside other esteemed workplaces such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. According to the paper’s website, “Top Workplaces are not only better places to work but are more likely to be successful than peer organizations.”

How does The Commercial Appeal decide which places are the best to work? It doesn’t — employees do! The rankings are based solely on anonymous survey feedback from employees.

Peggy Moore, who works as a receptionist for Juice Plus+, is not surprised. With 45 years of service under her belt, Peggy is one of Juice Plus+’s longest-term employees. While she has been faithfully answering the phones at Juice Plus+ for 15 years, Peggy has worn a variety of hats at the company, including acting as an administrative assistant and coordinating regional training schools.

Peggy points to several reasons why Juice Plus+ is an ideal place to work. First, she likes working somewhere that manufactures such a great product. “We think it’s the best product in the world,” she says. She should know — Juice Plus+ employees get free products for themselves and their families, so Peggy’s been taking it for decades.

She also appreciates all the other things Juice Plus+ does to improve the lives of the people who work there. Employees and their immediate family have access to a state-of-the-art fitness facility that’s open 24/7. And to ensure they have time to use it, the company offers 45 minutes of paid workout time per day.

When it’s too nice to be indoors, employees can take a stroll past beautiful ponds on the walking trail that winds through the park located at the rear of the building. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they get to feast on a healthy lunch provided by the company. And should any employee or their family members take ill, they can pop into the in-house health clinic to receive free healthcare.

Peggy points out that it’s not just employees that Juice Plus+ takes care of though. The company donates to several charities and encourages employees to participate in fundraising efforts for those charities as well. She’s particularly proud of the fact that Juice Plus+ has been a presenting sponsor of the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend, which raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, for 16 years.

But perhaps the best thing about working at Juice Plus+ is the family atmosphere. “We all work hard to get our jobs done, but it’s like family every day,” she explains.

Asked if she ever thought about leaving, Peggy just laughs. “Oh, never!” she exclaims. “I would never have worked anywhere else in my years. No, not at all.”
